A lot of groups have been formed by folks who want to help protect our democracy. Many of these are focused on the law and the judiciary. They’re among the organizations that have filed 585 lawsuits as of January 16, 2026, others protect voting, four civil rights and a free press. There are also groups that keep us apprised of public demonstrations and staying in front of our elected officials.
When it comes to certain areas of focus, particularly those based on specific actions the Trump administration is taking, there are many more organizations that would be helpful to list. For those groups, please click here.

5 Calls is an excellent resource for making calls to your congressional delegation. They actually highlight the specific issues and pieces of legislation that are pending in your area and show a detailed ‘explainer’ about each topic. They also show you which senator and / or your rep that you should contact about it and even cook up a little phone script, if you need it. Pretty impressive – and makes the process much easier.
